World Class Saxophonists to be featured with orchestra and winds from the ASU School of Music
After opening with Sinfonia (for Orbiting Spheres) by Missy Mazzoli, the Arizona State University Symphony Orchestra will feature saxophonist Gabriel Piqué on the stunning Shams by Jean-Denis Michat, with Yun Song Tay conducting, and saxophonist Christopher Creviston on the World Premiere of a Concerto by Pulitzer Finalist Carter Pann, with Jeffrey Meyer conducting. The Arizona State University Wind Ensemble will begin the second half of the concert with Skronk by John Frantzen, then feature saxophonist Robert Young on Postludes by David Heinick, and saxophonist Zach Shemon on Joel Love’s Solace – A Lyric Concerto, with Jason Caslor conducting both of these showpieces. The concert will conclude with the Sousa’s Stars and Stripes.
