Working with ink and paper manipulation, Sweo’s works deal with portraiture. On the surface, she presents a likeness of her subject, yet embedded in her renderings are the relationships between the subject and herself. Her works serve as mementos, a means of self-expression and an exploration of new and imagined forms of representation.
