In an effort to build the literacy of Valley youth, Mesa Arts Center’s Project Lit, activates classroom learning by engaging in critical conversation and reflections through the lens of poetic narrative and urban performance practices.

Students will participate in creative writing workshop that guide them through distinct phases of writing (drafting, revision, editing, publishing), alongside performance workshop with a focus on public speaking & reclaiming voice. In addition, students, will be challenged to develop social, emotional, & cultural literacy with an emphasis in collaboration.

events using effective technique, well-chosen details, and well-structured event sequences.
