It’s no secret that our downtown community seeks to support local artists either through providing paid opportunities to create, places to show their work, or ways to get engaged. Well, the Creative Catalysts (an initiative of Mesa Arts Center, funded by a grant from Flinn Foundation) have decided to support artists even further by organizing a series of monthly workshops to provide basic business skills to artists and local creatives.
The workshops will begin in July and continue monthly through December, occurring every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6 pm at Mesa Arts Center. Each workshop will be structured with a 30 minute networking opportunity, followed by an interactive, informative, and engaging workshop on topics such as branding yourself, budgeting, and how to write a stellar proposal or application. Attendees can expect to walk away with their questions answered, a few new connections in their arsenal, and some concrete information and guidance to help them build their business as an artist. See you there!
