The One Street Over: Neighborhood Connection Project is coming to a close in Whitman Park, we hope you have been out to connect with us and one another throughout the project. Friday April 26th we will be celebrating Whitman Park neighborhood and unveiling of the final mural designed based on your feedback and conversations of identity rooting from community by artist Miguel Angel Godoy created and painted collaboratively.

What is the One Street Over Project?

The project was designed for the Whitman Park Neighborhood to be informed by conversations with one another and informed by Whitman Park residents’ identity. The overarching goal was to create opportunities to be more involved and connected with neighbors, local decision-making and resource sharing, utilizing creative expression through the arts as a point of connection to achieve something more. Project events have included community gatherings, pop-up community-engaged arts projects, in-school art and civics residencies with teaching artists, celebrations and a community mural designed based on resident feedback and conversations - created together.

The One Street Over: Neighborhood Connection Program is celebrating the final mural at the Park Apr 26, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Join us for a free taco bar *as supplies last*, celebrate and connect with neighbors, make some neat arts activities with one another and celebrate the new mural. During this celebration, we will share about the project and reflect on the year.

All programming is free to engage in and located at Whitman Park!

¡Hola vecino!

El programa One Street Over: Neighborhood Connection Proyecto está llegando a su fin en Whitman Park, esperamos que hayan estado conectados con nosotros y entre sí durante todo el proyecto. El viernes estaremos celebrando el vecindario y develando el mural final diseñado por el artista Miguel Angel Godoy, creado y pintado en colaboración.

¿Qué es el proyecto One Street Over: Programa de Conexión Vecinal?

El proyecto fue diseñado para que el vecindario de Whitman Park se informara a través de conversaciones entre ellos y de la identidad de los residentes de Whitman Park. El objetivo general era crear oportunidades para participar y conectarse más con los vecinos, la toma de decisiones locales y el intercambio de recursos, utilizando la expresión creativa a través de las artes como punto de conexión para lograr algo más. Los eventos del proyecto han incluido reuniones comunitarias, proyectos artísticos emergentes con participación de la comunidad, residencias de arte y cívica en la escuela con artistas docentes, celebraciones y un mural comunitario diseñado en base a comentarios y conversaciones de los residentes, creados juntos.

El programa One Street Over: Neighborhood Connection está celebrando el mural final y el trabajo en el que usted ayudó durante el año pasado en el vecindario de Whitman. Únase a nosotros para barra de tacos gratis, hasta agotar existencias, célebre y conéctese con los vecinos, participe en actividades artísticas entre ellos. Durante esta celebración compartiremos sobre el proyecto y reflexionaremos sobre el año.
