Presented by Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School
"Bye Bye Birdie" opened on Broadway in 1960 and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The show is a spoof of the life of American teenagers. Rock star Conrad Birdie has been drafted into the Army and his manager sets up one last big publicity stunt before he goes. Birdie is going to kiss a typical American teenage girl "good-bye" on national TV. But when a jealous boyfriend, a possessive mama and crazy teenagers all descend on small town Sweet Apple, Ohio, lots of fun ensues. Full of great signing like "Kids!" and "Put On a Happy Face" and fantastic 50's dancing, "Bye Bye Birdie," as presented by the Pueblo Middle School Bulldog Players, has something in it for everyone. Presented one night only.
