It's February... "Love is in the Air" and Art and Music is everywhere...Thanks to the Creative Catalyst Group in Mesa!
This dedicated and determined group is powered by Mesa Art Center, who has been providing opportunities for artists to gain exposure at local art events, as well as, much needed education surrounding their craft.
Every third Wednesday of the month, Mesa Arts Center and Creative Catalysts host the FREE "Well Fed Artists" Workshops, with speakers and activities geared toward professional development for artists and "makers trying to make it.” This is a huge value and much needed series, indeed! I have attended several of the workshops on various topics and can personally say that I gained more than just information. I learned more about myself as an artist and connected with other artists in my area to share our successes, hardships and even created plans to help cross promote each other’s artistic mission. I am grateful for the connections I have made during these events and know that there are others with stories similar to mine, with even more to come with time.
It is always fun to participate and volunteer with this group, positively activating spaces in downtown Mesa, through fun art and cultural activities. One of my favorite events to catch is "Easy Like Saturday Morning" brunches where a different restaurant, musician and craft is combined with the community in mind. Personally, I get to fulfill my foodie and artistic needs, while sharing great company, with other like minded individuals and groups most active in the neighborhoods around me.
I am a huge fan of the Creative Catalyst mission and can't wait to see what is in store for us to learn and explore next!
