The Mesa Urban Garden will be celebrating with their annual Luna Llena Festival on January 14th. The wonderful community garden, led by some of the most passionate and committed community members out there, is a chance to celebrate the new year ahead. Luna Llena, or New Moon, allows us to imagine the many wonderful things we will make happen in the new year, and to let go of the things from the past year that no longer serve us.
The Creative Catalysts participated in this festival in 2016, providing a mechanism for people to identify both their anticipations for the new year by writing them down and hanging them in the garden, and the things they wish to let go by writing them down and placing them in a box that was later donated to the bonfire. We also had artist, Kyllan Maney, create a beautiful mural for the community to help paint and celebrated the garden.
This year, the CC group is excited to be helping with the Luna Llena festival again. This time, with a quick origami tutorial to adorn the lights in the garden. We are so excited to have the opportunity to participate and celebrate another year to come, one that we anticipate to be the best yet for CC.
