Arts Education
Visual Arts education program classes are taught by experienced, enthusiastic and professional instructors who encourage the development of creativity. Students work at their own pace on challenging projects in fully equipped studios with state-of-the-art equipment. In the Performing Arts education program, arts and education professionals teach standards-based, process-oriented classes, camps and workshops. Classes challenge the imagination, develop creativity, sharpen critical thinking and develop performing arts skills.
Students may select from a wide variety of interests: Acting, Ceramics, Dance, Drama, Drawing, Glass, Jewelry, Metals, Music, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture and more. Three sessions per year are offered, generally in Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer, with varying class lengths that run from a few weeks to 16 weeks. Classes typically meet once per week.
Workshops are offered intermittently to provide intensive study in a specific subject. These are led by notable local, regional and national visual and performing artists. MAC Classes also offers a fully supervised Summer Arts Camp experience for youth and teens. The Arts Blocks consist of multiple classes in the performing and/or visual arts, consisting of any combination of theater arts, dance, music, and/or visual arts. The Creative Tots program is for children ages 3 to 5, with classes consisting of four, 45-minute sections of drama, dance, structured play, music, and/or the visual arts, with snacks provided.
